JAMES GARNETT
Hi!
I'm James, an explorer, musician, speaker, charity fundraiser and extreme sports enthusiast. As an adventurer and explorer, I am the first
kidney transplant patient to circumnavigate Sri Lanka, traverse India and Greenland, and ski across Svalbard.
In November 2026, in memory of my mum, Elaine, who battled kidney failure most of her life, I am aiming to become the first-ever transplant recipient to ski from the Antarctic coast to the South Pole, solo and unsupported. This is my biggest expedition to date, the 3x90 Expedition and will take up to 50 days to complete.
As a professional drummer, I have toured the world, performing for over 15 years alongside artists such as Eurythmics, Paloma Faith, New Order, Leona Lewis, and Revere.
Whether racing across simmering deserts or skiing across frozen landscapes, I am dedicated to raising money for NHS charities, raising awareness about organ donation shortages, transplantation and pushing the boundaries and perceptions of what organ transplant patients can
achieve.
I also have a love of pretty much any extreme sport including big air kitesurfing and backcountry snowboarding and I can often be seen crashing spectacularly whilst attempting a new trick!
